After weeks of study on e-collars. I decided to go with the Dogtra hunter 2 dog. It arrived 2 days after ordering.All I can say is wow. It has made life and training with my 2 APBTs so much more enjoyable. I am no longer fumbling with leashes. I can take my dogs for a walk off leash, without worry. And that is only after a week! Although they were 60% trained off leash beforehand. I can now take their training to a new level that I just could not do before. And with confidence.My one doggy is a rescue and very sensitive. I only have had to use the vibrate with her. After an initial tantrum over wearing the collar. She and I could not be happier! She has far less drive then my other dog. So I had low expectations with the collar on her. I was so wrong. She now responds wonderfully even without having the collar on! Before she would only really respond if I had food. Or if she felt like it:/My other dog has a ton of drive. She is the fastest dog I have ever seen in person. So that makes for a difficult time with her off leash, if she decides to chase something. With her I have had to nick her twice. That was to get her off of a rabbit(her favorite to chase)I have it set to 45 and that seems to be the sweet spot. Just make sure the collar is on very snug or the probes will not work.Now for the collar itself. It seems to be very well made. I took them swimming the first day with no issues. The range is good as far as I could test it. Love how the buttons are set up. Very easy to control two dogs at once. My only gripe is that you can't use vibrate on both dogs at the same time. Since my dogs are best buds, and partners in crime, they usually get into trouble together. Having this option would be nice. I find myself tapping both buttons when a chase is on. I stop once that dog turns around and continue holding it for the other dog that keeps going. Until she turns around, then off of the button and all praise!!Good Doggie!!:)The unit seems like it will last for awhile. I'm thinking the battery is the only thing that is going to fail eventually. So far the battery life is incredible. After the recommended 10 hour initial full charge. I have used it 2 hours daily and 3-4 hours on the weekend days. It's been a week and a half and it hasn't even went down a bar yet. Love that!I just wish I would have bought this sooner. If you have 2 dogs and want an e collar for them. This is a great unit. Very good value for the money. Doggies that listen=happy owner. Happy owner=spoiled doggies. Spoiled doggies that listen=happy everyone:) This collar and a good foundation in dog training make it possible. But it will not be a magic bullet if you don't know how to train a dog. Seek someone with knowledge in dog handling and using these collars.These collars are like a hammer. In the right hands it can build something wonderful. In the wrong hands it can destroy. Make sure its in the right hands!!
